Q: Do I have to use NT Challenge/Response when protecting the store
manager? I would like to be able to use Basic Auth. since some users may be using
Netscape and we seem to have problems with NT C/R across our network (which
is another issue). A: It might be that the default domain is not setup or is setup improperly.
On the Authentication Methods tab, click the Edit button next to basic auth.
Explicitly name the domain that users are authenticated against. Also, when logging in, try fully qualifying the username with the domain
name. Example:
domain\username
